Sports Performance & Injury Recovery

Sports performance and injury recovery is an area near and dear to my heart. I have shared my own struggles in recovery from injury, overcoming “mental blocks,” and navigating the athletic burnout often associated with competing at a high level.

Athletes at any level often face unique mental and emotional challenges—both in competition and during injury recovery. Many seek therapy when performance pressure, perfectionism, fear of failure, or intense self-criticism begin interfering with enjoyment and confidence. Others look for support during recovery from injuries, especially when pain, setbacks, or the fear of re-injury create anxiety or impact motivation. Therapy provides a structured, evidence-based space to strengthen your mental game and support a full, sustainable return to sport.

Treatment for sports performance may include mental skills training, goal-setting, visualization, routines for focus, managing performance anxiety, and building resilience under pressure. For injury recovery, therapy often addresses the emotional impact of time away from sport, identity disruption, frustration, grief, or uncertainty. We work together to help you rebuild confidence, regulate fear of re-injury, develop pacing strategies, and maintain a healthy mindset while your body heals.

Therapy offers athletes a personalized approach to improving mental toughness, enhancing concentration, and supporting physical recovery. Many clients experience improved focus, reduced anxiety, greater motivation, and clearer self-awareness—both on and off the field.
